Deepika Padukone has been flaunting 3 finger nail marks on her back at the launch of the music album of her upcoming film ‘Karthik calling Karthik’ co-starring Farhan Akhtar.

Deepika kept giving conflicting announcements about her status. First she said she was not single, then showing off her fingers, said she wasn’t engaged.

Deepika made no attempt to hide the finger nail marks on her back as she was wearing a backless dress. To top it, she kept turning her back towards the cameras trying to show them off.

A special two-and-a-half-minute promo of Rakesh Roshan’s Kites will hit the theatres on February 12, with the release of My Name Is Khan.

The promo showcases the love story between Barbara Mori and Hrithik Roshan, and even has a kissing scene. However, instead of hoping that the promo makes the right impact, the producers are now scratching their heads over a totally unforeseen problem.

The promo has been leaked and already made its way to the internet. The promo was specially made and sent to the 20th century Fox office in USA, who will release My Name Is Khan internationally.

Our source said, “Rakesh Roshan, the unit at Filmkraft and director Anurag Basu had made this promo keeping the international market in mind. This was supposed to be released with My Name Is Khan as it has a grand overseas release. The promo was made and sent to the US office of Fox Studios. However, now the office has learnt that the promo has been leaked on the net on Wednesday. Everyone was in shock and didn’t know how this happened. Rakesh Roshan and the entire unit of Reliance Big Pictures were in the process of removing the promos from youtube as the novelty factor would have worn off by the time My Name Is Khan releases.”

Kashmira Shah was spotted with swollen lips at a Baz Luhrmann event at an art hotel in Khar on Tuesday night.

Exclaims Kashmera, “That is because I was kissing (beau) Krushna in the car earlier!”

On a more serious note she says, “My lips appear like this because I was wearing nude lipstick. This is how my lips look. Maybe because I have always been seen with coloured lipstick, I look different in this look.”

She reiterates that she would never go under the knife. “I am terrified of needles. I will never ever do botox either.”

Kash adds, “Moreover if I resort to plastic surgery, what would be the difference between Rakhi Sawant and me? Everything of mine is natural while in Rakhi’s case, except for her armpits, it has all been with the help of plastic surgery!”

Ishqiya and Rann released this Friday and had star-studded red-carpet premieres in the capital Thursday, but “Ishqiya” moved ahead in the race to the boxoffice with almost 80 percent collections in the opening weekend. Meanwhile Rann opened to a poor response around 15-20%.

‘Ishqiya’ has got a strong opening in both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh in both multiplexes and single-screens. It has got around 80 percent business over the initial weekend,” Yogesh Raizada, corporate head (cinemas) of Wave Cinemas, told IANS.

“The dialogue delivery in the movie is very good and it is a typical masala movie but the drawback is that everyone might not like it because it has its own class. While ‘Rann’ is gripping but has managed only around 30 percent opening. There has been no initial for this one. It has its own class but no mass appeal,” he added.

Delhi-based distributor Joginder Mahajan also echoed the same.

“‘Rann’ has fared very poorly thanks to its subject. ‘Ishqiya’ on the other hand has been average vis-a-vis ‘Rann’. It is an ordinary affair with local appeal. Though the masses are watching it but the film is not for everyone because some are finding it a bit cheap,” said Mahajan.

“Surprisingly, ‘Ishqiya’ is performing better in multiplexes and not in B and C sectors. We are expecting it to earn an average Rs.2 crore overall in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh,” he added.

Tahir Hussain, well-known filmmaker and Bollywood star Aamir Khan’s father, died of a massive heart attack here Tuesday morning, sources close to the family said.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, Aamir and Faisal, and two daughters, Farhat and Nikhat.

Hussain is known for producing hits like “Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke” (1993) that starred son Aamir, “Dulha Bikta Hai” (1982), “Zakhmee” (1975), “Anamika” (1973) and “Caravan” (1971).

In 1990, he made his directorial debut with “Tum Mere Ho” with Aamir and Juhi Chawla.

Family sources said Hussain died at Aamir’s residence in Bandra. Aamir and his wife Kiran are in the US for the Sundance Festival and are taking the first flight home. Hussain’s grandson, Imran Khan, who made his debut with “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na”, is in New Zealand and will also be coming back.

Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan was attacked by the Shiv Sena party for his sympathetic approach towards the Pakistani players and asked for apology but King Khan stands by his remark and said that he was not apologetic for favoring Pakistani Players adding that India is a good country and everyone is welcome as a guest. He termed the activities of the party as ‘undemocratic’.

“It makes me feel that activities like this are unhealthy, undemocratic, its insensitive but this is the world is and you can only say what you believe in and stand by it and hopefully I will have the strength to do so,” Khan quipped when asked about the Shiv Sena protests back home.

“As an Indian I`m not ashamed, guilty or unhappy about what I said neither am I sorry,” he said.

In protest against the actor the Shiv Sena activist even banned the screening of his upcoming film, ‘My Name Is Khan’ in Mumbai.

It was a busy day for Khan and his My Name is Khan co-star Kajol in the Big Apple as they began their morning by ringing the NASDAQ bell and went into a torrent of press conferences with the Indian and international media to speak about their upcoming film.

Journalists, however, were keen to discuss the controversy brewing at home to which Khan asked why his remarks were attracting so much attention. “I’m not a politician, I’m not a radical… I’m just an actor and I say a lot of things and many times people take it rightly or wrongly but it’s not to be paid so much attention to”.

Ameesha Patel and her NRI boyfriend Kanav Puri’s relationship has ended. The couple had been dating for nearly three years before their relationship hit troubled waters nearly eight months ago. The key reason for their recent split was that Kanav can’t wait to tie the knot while Ameesha wants to give one more shot to her flailing acting career and marriage is the last thing on her mind.

A source said, “There has been major trouble between Ameesha and Kanav for quite some time now. While Kanav has been constantly speaking of settling down with Ameesha, marriage is not on her priority list right now. In fact, he had proposed marriage to her when he had come down to India to celebrate her birthday in June last year. Much to his dismay, Ameesha has been dilly-dallying ever since he officially asked her to marry him. Evidently, Kanav was getting quite restless.”

Another reason why Ameesha isn’t in a hurry to tie the knot is that she recently patched up with her estranged parents. “It has made Ameesha all the more emotionally secure, which undoubtedly is a good thing, but has resulted in her putting her relationship with Kanav on the back burner. Ameesha was a loner for a really long time after separating from her family and her subsequent break up with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt. She had found solace with Kanav but the emotional vacuum is no longer there and Ameesha doesn’t miss Kanav like she used to now that she has her parents and brother Ashmit back in her life,” added the source.

According to the source, Kanav had come to India in early December to once again ask Ameesha about her decision to get married to him but she thinks that tying the knot would mean professional hara-kiri and so had asked for more time.

The source said, “There is so much tension that both have stopped speaking altogether. The marriage plans have definitely gone for a toss with frequent fights taking a toll on their relationship. They have now decided to take time off from each other. While Ameesha is concentrating on her career, Kanav does not want to wait any longer and things are beyond repair.”

With Vivek Oberoi turning up uninvited at every occasion where his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai is present, many people have started to believe that he is stalking Aishwarya, however Vivek begs to differ.

Vivek Oberoi was seen getting close to the Bachchans at the Police Awards, then he gatecrashed SRK’s party making Bachchan’s uncomfortable and recently at Rann’s premiere he landed uninvited.

Talking about the turn of events, Vivek says, “Suddenly I’m a stalker one day and one day I’m a gatecrasher. Mela laga hua hai kya (Is it a fair of controversies)? Will anybody say anything and walk away? What nonsense is this? It’s very irresponsible and I completely disapprove of it. It’s rubbish. If there was an element of truth in this, I can understand. But this is nonsense.”
“Shah Rukh and Gauri have been exceptionally kind to me, they are lovely people. It’s not like I haven’t been to their place before. I have been to their place for their events, their parties – and suddenly I become a gatecrasher? From where? Does anybody do that? I won’t go to my relatives house without an invite.”
Talking about the Rann premiere fiasco, he says, “Yesterday I came out of the premiere of ‘Rann’ and I was asked a silly question – ‘Why weren’t you sitting in the same auditorium?’. How do I answer that? Do I have to go search for them in each auditorium and then sit accordingly? It’s ridiculous. And if I was inside the same auditorium as theirs, then people would say ‘You’re stalking them’.”
Vivek asks media to mind their own business as Ash is happy in her own life, he says, “They are all happy with their own lives. I am doing great work by god’s grace, my personal life is very happy, I have got a great life and wonderful friends. They (Abhishek and Aishwarya) are married, they are really happy, doing really well and they are wonderful, civil to me as I am to them and there is no problem. It is irritating that people just keep bringing it up.”

Aishwarya Rai looked stunning in a Sabyasachi black anarkali at Rann Premiere, however her happiness was shortlived when her ex-boyfriend Vivek Oberoi came in for the premiere.

As soon as Vivek made an entry, Aishwarya looked very angry, to avoid any bad moments the organziers shifted Vivek to another auditorium. When Vivek came out of the auditorium to go to loo, media asked him whether he was invited and he said, “The Movie is still on, Mr. Bachchan is fantastic.”

Aishwarya looked very displeased and was seen talking to Abhi loudly in a miffed voice saying, “Who is leading us upstairs, are you taking us?” and forced Abhi towards the auditorium by the hand.

Aishwarya’s displeasure continued after the flick, as she avoided talking with guests, that’s when Abhi held her by shoulders and said “Baby” and made her talk to director Ram Gopal Varma.

Ramu did not had any clue about Vivek’s presence at the movie.
