A chubby looking Raveena Tandon was spotted in Kolkata for Durga Puja. The actress was wearing a maroon long kaftan (to hide the weight gain?) and with matchy-matchy accessories.
But, what was baffling, was her one eyebrow! Someone seemed to have been over zealous with the tweezers and it appeared 1/3 missing. To overcome the disaster, her makeup person seemed to have done a poor job it repainting it back!
You be the judge!

Reason #1: Watch the Birth of a Classic: Vishal Bhardwaj has created a classic by which all future movies will be measured. Everything is in its place – the acting, the star cast and the supporting cast, the plot, the cinematography, the editing – you name it and its in its place. Haider is an unforgettable film that cannot go wrong. It moves ahead without stumbling.
Reason #2: For Kashmir of 1995: Haider depicts the difficult times of a bleeding Kashmir in 1995. Bhardwaj casts a brave, unflinching eye on the Kashmiri struggle. With treachery at every corner, where your own beloveds betray. Those were the times.
Reason #3: The Amazing Photography: Kashmir has been portrayed in Bollywood from the times of Shammi Kapoor, but never thus. It has been photographed from the eyes of a desperate lover. Pankaj Kapoor has excelled himself in the movie. Kashmir was never more stark or more beautiful.
Reason #4: The Plot: Though Haider is an adaptation of Hamlet, it is not Hamlet. It moves beyond the Bard and finds its own path. The missing of those times were never more portrayed so sensitively. Kudos to the Censor Dept of clearing the movie with such a sensitive plot.
Reason #5: For the Acting: If you were planning to see the movie because of the chocolate boy Shahid Kapoor, forget it. Here is Shahid who is an unbathed, shabby, obsessed Haider. Here you have the classic Tabu, who has the knack of moving beyond the script. Here you have Kay Kay Menon, Irrfan Khan and Narendra Jha who do full justice to their roles. And surprise, surprise – we have a Bollywood heroine at last who doesn’t care about her designer clothes or her makeup – Shraddha Kapoor.
Here is a movie which got audience applause at the end!
Gossip Bollywood Rating: 5/5 It can get no better!

It has been reported that Tanishaa Mukerji and Armaan Kohli have called off their relationship.
A common friend of the couple reveals that things have been going steadily downhill since the last three-four weeks. “Tanishaa and Armaan realised that they are two very different individuals who have little in common. And that’s what started the fights.”
Sunday, Tanishaa went for Armaan’s father Rajkumar Kohli’s birthday party. A guest tells us that they danced together for few minutes. “But this, we guess, was their last dance. However, they will continue to remain cordial,” says the guest.
Is a patch-up possible? “Naturally, both will make an effort to iron out their differences. After all, they were together for more than a year. But as of now, they are definitely not a couple,” the friend said.
Tanishaa is busy setting up her own production house with her mother while Armaan is busy concentrating on his acting career with Sooraj Barjatya’s upcoming film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

Vishal Bharadwaj’s Haider release date clashing with Hrithik Roshan’s action film Bang Bang seemed like a huge gamble. The two teams went overboard telling everyone that there was actually no ‘clash’ as the two films were of different genre.
However, now it looks like Vishal Bharadwaj might be having second thoughts.
Haider, starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu and Kay Kay Menon, has not been able to build a buzz in the film trade circuit. The music didn’t create a buzz neither its trailers.
Also Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bharadwaj have both failed to give hits with their last releases (Phata Poster Nikla Hero or Mathru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola).
Now reports in the film trade circles are that Haider might be postponed to a safer Friday, avoiding a direct contest with Bang Bang.
Here is another angle. UTV Motion Pictures had given a package deal to single screen exhibitors across India where they offered Kick and Haider together. But with Bang Bang creating strong buzz, single screen exhibitors do not want to lose out on major business during the long weekend of October 2, the screen owners are planning a breach of contract.
So for now, postponement of release of Haider is the best chance for this film to get a decent viewing from audiences across India. I mean how many movies can one see on a weekend?

Aashirwad, the iconic Carter Road bungalow belonging to late superstar Rajesh Khanna has finally changed hands. Its new owner, businessman Shashi Shetty, completed the paperwork for the deal yesterday. The deal is worth Rs 90 crore approximately.
Shetty is the chairman and managing director of Allcargo Logistics Ltd.
Khanna’s daughters Twinkle and Rinke, and their mother, actress Dimple Khanna, were present for the procedure.
Khanna bought this bungalow for Rs 3.5 lakh in 1970 from actor Rajendra Kumar. The home was named Dimple, and Khanna wanted to retain the name. However, Kumar, who had built another bungalow on Pali Hill of the same name, refused to part with the name.
The name Aashirwad was suggested by Kakaji’s father. Though the bungalow had proven to be unlucky for Rajendra Kumar, Khanna delivered 15 straight hits in a row.

Bollywood filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, known more for his controversial tweets and bombed films, has sparked another controversy with his atheist tweet on the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi.
RGV tweeted, “The guy who couldn’t save his own head from being cut, how he will save others heads is my question? But Happy Ganpathi day to morons!”
His tweet has initiated a barrage of reactions on the social media, condemning his insensitive remark on the micro blogging site.
B-town celebrities responded to Ram Gopal Varma’s tweets.
Hema Malini- Actress and MP- “What rubbish is this. I am shocked and appalled by his tweet. I think he is just saying all this to garner publicity. We must not give him undue attention and just let him enjoy his two minutes of fame.”
Paresh Rawal- Actor and MP- “This is disgusting and unwarranted. Ramu is just looking for people’s reaction. We should not react and dignify his demeaning comments. Let him say whatever he wants to”.
Aditya Pancholi- Actor- “I can only say Vinash Kaley Viprit Buddhi. He should concentrate on film making rather than doing something like this for publicity. How dare he talk like this? If he doesn’t believe in god and is an atheist then he should change his name from Ram Gopal Varma to Ravan Gopal Varma.”
Manoj Bajpayee-, Actor- “I don’t want to react on his tweet and give him importance. Some people believe in god some don’t. But he should not use offensive language in his tweet. I think people should just ignore him that will keep him in his place.”
Mahesh Bhatt- Filmmaker – “First of all Ram Gopal Varma should explain his philosophy behind the tweet. We have to keep in mind today’s environment is very inflamed. People take objection to slightest comment which may be hurting to their faith. It is unwise for any celebrity to tweet something like this as it puts tremendous burden on law and order and the entertainment industry in general. India is a country which has always been sensitive to people’s belief so we as thought leaders must exercise tremendous restrain and act with great wisdom on a social platform like twitter. Otherwise there will be chaos and irreversible damage to life and property”
